Slow Mail Delivery Has Many Residents Fuming
EL PASO — A growing number of West Central residents say they’re getting upset at the slow delivery of their mail. Regular mail, such as bills and flyers, are very slow to arrive, some residents in Kern Place are reporting. Some say magazines and mail order goods take even longer.
In a phone conversation, a post office spokesman says he knows the mail service in the Kern neighborhood has been slowed down. Although no real explanation was given for the backup, the spokesman said officials are working to get delivery up to speed.
Neighbors say that’s not good enough. “Hire some more people get it done. There’s no reason for something coming from Arizona to takesix days to get here,” said resident Bill Cross.
Another complaint: Many people in the Kern neighborhood said not only does the mail come late but in some cases it comes to the wrong address. That’s forcing thoughtful neighbors to make exchanges with one another, but even then, some say, there are problems, as bills which come late result in late fees for billpayers.
