Point In Time Delivers UTEP Win Over Tulane

EL PASO (AP) – Claude Britten hit a layup with three seconds lefton Wednesdayto giveUTEP a 66-64 victory over Tulane.

Tulane had tied the game at 64-64 with 1:55 left on a jumper by Matt Wheaton. Neither team could get a shot to fall until Britten pulled down an offensive rebound and hit the game winner. Kevin Sims missed a 3-pointer as time expired.

Stefon Jackson led UTEP (14-7, 5-3 Conference USA) with 18 points. Randy Culpepper added 13, and Marvin Kilgore and Britten each had 12.

David Gomez led Tulane (15-7, 5-3) with 18 points. Donnavan Stith added 15 and Daniel Puckett 14 for Tulane.

The game was tied 13 times and neither team could break the game open.
