Cloudcroft Water Leaks Repaired; Storage Tanks Full

CLOUDCROFT, N.M. (AP) – Crews have repaired a major leak in an 8-inch-diameter pipeline from Cloudcroft’s water source to the village’s storage tanks.

Mayor Pro Tem Brad Rasch says the leak was discovered and fixed Saturday, and the water tanks were full Monday.

The village and Otero County declared a potable water emergency February 13th, a day aver village trustees learned of the big water leak.

A number of water meters also had frozen and broken. Most of the major leaks have been fixed.

The village was producing 325,000 gallons a day, but was losing 210,000 gallons daily because of the leaks.
