Man Arrested In Connection To Cruces Shooting

LAS CRUCES — Authorities are investigating a shooting that left one man critically injured on Tuesday.

Las Cruces policewere called to the 800 block of Rio Grande, where they discovered the victim was being helped by a neighbor. The shooting occurred at the victim’s house next door, police said.

The exact events leading to the shooting are still unclear, butpolice have charged Toy Baldwin 26, with one count of aggravated assault.

Officers will only say Baldwin, 26, and the victim were partying together and that a gun was found in the victim’s home.

The victim was airlifted to Thomason Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
