Jury Finds Man Guilty On Child Pornography Charges
EL PASO — Arkon Christopher Caldwell was found guilty of receivingand possessing child pornography, according to U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton.
Prosecutors were able to prove Caldwell received and kept hundreds of images of children involved in sexually explicit activities from February 2005 to November of that same year.
This case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and prosecuted as part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood (PSC) initiative.
PSC is a comprehensive initiative aimed at preventing the abuse and exploitation of children through the Internet or other distribution technology, officials said.
Officials said PSC also createslocally designed partnershipsbetween federal, state and local law enforcement officers in each federal district to investigate and prosecute Internet-based crimes against children.
Sentencing for Caldwellis set for May 28, 2008.
