Overnight Homicide Investigation Reveals Man Committed Suicide
EL PASO — Police have confirmed their discovery of a body as they answered a “shots fired” call was actually a suicide.
Emergency crews received the call concerning a wounded person around 2:30 a.m. Friday morning. When they arrived at the scene along the 6300 block of Bel Mar, near Fiesta, they found a handgun near the body.
No identity has been released of the body, except that it was of a man. Officers were about to contact family members and disclosure of the man’s name was to follow.
Officers checked for any other available evidence and decided the man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
