Student Encourages School To ‘Go Green’

EL PASO, Texas – Daniel Martinez is a sophomore at Hanks High School. You could call him El Paso’s own Eco Ambassador. He does does his part at home and at school to preserve our environment.

At Hanks, he pushes his “go green” activities on student council. Daniel also encourages teachers to participate in blackout days to cut down on energy consumption.

The project, called ‘The Forecast Earth Summit, was created by The Weather Channel who chose Daniel to record a public service announcement.

Daniel’s message encourages everyone to think about what they can each do to make a difference. The Weather Channel plans to hold another earth summit event in December.
