At Least One Killed In Colorado Tornado
WINDSOR, Colo. (AP) – Emergency personnel in northern Colorado are still trying to determine how many people are hurt, and how badly following a large tornado that killed at least one person.
At least seven people were taken to a hospital with injuries, but the nature and extent of their injuries are not yet known.
Homes and farm buildings have lost roofs, utility poles are toppled and a jackknifed truck blocked a state highway. Interstate 25, the main north-south highway, is back open to traffic, while lockdowns of schools in the area were lifted about an hour after the storm passed.
The National Weather Service says the storm tracked through or near four towns. One residential neighborhood in Windsor appears to be heavily damaged.
Officials say the man killed was a resident at a campground outside Greeley.
