Andrew Chung

I suppose I should call this “The Adventures of I-10 Man” as this is my third television station along the Interstate 10 corridor. Prior to arriving at KVIA, I was a meteorologist at KBTV, the NBC affiliate in Beaumont, TX, where I covered hurricanes Rita and Humberto; and before that, I worked as a meteorologist at Florida’s News Channel and the MBC Network in Tallahassee, FL.

I graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s of Science degree in Meteorology plus a minor in mathematics, and finished all but the thesis for a master’s degree in Meteorology from FSU. In April of 2008, I was awarded the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from the American Meteorological Society, considered an upgrade to the original AMS Seal of Approval, and in June of 2008 I was awarded Best Weather Presentation from the Press Club of Southeast Texas for severe weather coverage in the Beaumont area.

Miami, FL is my hometown and in my spare time I enjoy playing the piano and violin, being a graphic artist, lifting weights, watching football games both on television and in person, and studying foreign languages (I would like to become fluent in Spanish in El Paso).

Thanks for watching ABC-7!
