Missing Las Cruces Teacher Found Safe

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) – A Las Cruces elementary school teacher who went missing Tuesday is back home.

Cynta Torres’ daughter says her mother called her father this morning from a truck stop on Interstate 10, and that he picked her up.

Her daughter says she went walking along the area’s network of ditches and canals, and feel and broke a wrist in two places and lost her jacket.

Las Cruces police spokesman Dan Trujillo says she’s fine. In his words: “We’re glad for her and her family.”
