Law Enforcement Agencies Launch Operation Against Sex Offenders

EL PASO, Texas — Local law enforcement agencies are launching a pre-Halloween city/countywide effort to ensure children are safe from sexual predators.

Participating agencies include the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, the El Paso Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Service, the West Texas Community Supervision and Corrections (probation), Texas Parole and Federal Probation Department.

Law enforcement officials said an operation earlier this year resulted in over 80 arrests for violations of Texas and federal laws regarding sex offender registration.

At a press conference on Monday, local law enforcement agency officials said they will continue to provide a “constant combined focus on sex offender case management, registration, compliance and investigations.”
