Club Owner Arrested On Charges Of Distributing Controlled Substance
A spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirms to ABC-7 they are serving a search warrant at STUDIO 69 and Club Mystin downtown El Paso.
ICE says the owner ofSTUDIO 69, Javier Daniel Guerrero, has been arrested for conspiracy to posses and distribute a controlled substance.
Agents from ICE arrested the 30-year-old Guerrero at his home in Canutillo and seized four vehicles, including a BMW, a Chevy Tahoe, a Ford pickup truck, and a vintage truck. Authorities think the vintage truck may have been stolen.
In addition, the agents also seized three loaded handguns, an assault rifle, and $57,500 in cash.
Authorities say a month-long investigation discovered Guerrero had been recruiting local truck drivers to deliver loads of marijuana cross-country, with Guerrero allegedly offering $30,000 a load for transport.
In one instance, authorities said, Guerrero allegedly brought in a load from McAllen, Texas to Athens, Georgia, paying the driver $50,000.
