Man Killed In Crash Near Anthony Was Going To Be A Father

Hundreds of mourners paid their respects Saturday night to a 24-year-old man killed in a crash last week near Anthony.

Pierre Ferry, a graduate of Coronado High School and New Mexico State University, was hit by a woman making an illegal u-turn.

Ferry’s pregnant fiancee, Danika, and their unborn child were among the mourners at the funeral.

The driver who pulled in front of Ferry, 56-year-old Paula Ramirez, was taken to Thomason Hospital in critical condition following the crash.

She remained at the hospital in stable condition as of Sunday morning. Authorities charged her with reckless driving.

Anthony Davis, Ferry’s brother-in-law,saidfamily members found out the day after his death that Danika was expecting a boy.
