Club Owner Facing Drug Charges Appears In Court
EL PASO, Texas — Javier Daniel Guerrero, owner of Downtown El Paso nightclubs Studio 69 and Myst, had his initial appearance in federal court Monday morning.
A judge officially read the charges against him — Guerrero is charged with conspiracy to possess and distribute a controlled substance.
The judge will decide if he is eligible for bond or not.
On Friday, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents arrested Guerrero and raided the two clubs and Guerrero’s Canutillo home.
Authorities say a month-long investigation revealed that Guerrero had been recruiting local truck drivers to deliver loads of marijuana cross-country, with Guerrero allegedly offering $30,000 a load for transport.
