Las Cruces Police Investigate Shots Fired Near Elementary School

LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Las Cruces police are investigating a report of shots fired near an elementary school Monday night.

About 10 p.m., police responded to reports of gunshots fired from a vehicle near Montana Avenue and Diana Maura Drive near Conlee Elementary School.

No injuries were reported and no property damage was found, police said.

Officers found several 9mm casings in the roadway. Witnesses told police the shots may have come from a suspect in a small light blue car, officials said. No other information on the suspect or vehicle was available.
