Eight-Year-Old Girl Dies Following Rollover Crash

An eight-year-old girl has died following a rollover accident that happened Thursday near the New Mexico state line.

According to authorities, eight-year-old Karina Reyes was one of five children inside the vehicle and was ejected in the crash.

A spokesman from the New Mexico Department of Safety said the children were not wearing seatbelts, and added that alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.

As of Saturday morning, the vehicle’s driver, 55-year-old Blanca Melendez of El Paso, was still in critical condition.

The investigation continues; stay tuned to ABC-7 for any new information on this story.
