Gunshots Ring Out Hours After Authorities Issue Injunction

Gunshots rang out late Friday night in Northeast El Paso just hours after a new gang injunction took effect.

The incident happened near the 4700 block of Maxwell, inside the area known as the “Devil’s Triangle”, targeted by authorities in an effort to curb gang violence.

According to witnesses, a family party at an apartment complex turned sour, ending for some reason with gunfire.

Even though emergency crews responded to the scene to treat a “gunshot wound”, no one was taken to the hospital.

One woman told ABC-7 she heard two gunshots after two people started fighting. After that, she said, everyone scattered and took cover.
