EPISD Trustee Proposes Changing District Hiring
EL PASO, Texas — One El Paso ISD trustee says the district needs to change the way the superintendent hires people.
At the El Paso ISD board meeting Tuesday night, trustee Sergio Lewis made a motion to have the board oversee district hiring.
“Now to continue to leave anyone, whether it’s the administration or anyone with an open check book at will, I believe it is unconscionable of us to put ourselves in that position,” Lewis said.
Other board members said they did not know he wanted a vote at that time, so the board decided to discuss the proposal in committee and bring it up again at the next meeting.
