Family In Mourning After Motorcyclist Dies In Horizon City

A Horizon City family is in mourning following a deadly motorcycle crash that happened Friday afternoon.

The crash happened shortly after 3pm near Lauren and Kanazo, with the rider of the motorcycle, Juan Ortega, dying at an area hospital.

Juan’s family says he was “a great kid” and had “a big heart”, with a bright future ahead of him.

The Horizon High School senior was set to graduate this May, and had already signed up for the Army, but his biggest joy in life was his baby daughter, Angeline, who will become a year old in May.

Juan’s family added he was planning her birthday party.

However, Angeline will now grow up without a father.

As he had done time and again, Juan was riding his motorcycle Friday, when he came around a curve and slammed into a brick wall.

His mother, Yvonne, wants everyone to take away this message, if nothing else: “life is too short…wear your helmet…and don’t speed.”
