3rd Case Of Swine Flu Confirmed In Texas

CIBOLO, Texas (AP) – Another case of swine flu has been confirmed in Texas – the third in the state and 41st in the country.

Texas Department of State Health Services spokesman Doug McBride said Monday that a third student at a school near San Antonio has swine flu.

The 18-year-old male remains in voluntary isolation at his home and is recovering.

McBride said the swine flu confirmation came from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention laboratory.

All three cases involve students at a high school in Cibolo in Guadalupe County near San Antonio.

The first two were 16-year-old boys who were friends. McBride said both remain in voluntary isolation and have recovered.

It is not known how the three contracted swine flu. They have not recently traveled to Mexico.
