Pedestrian Dies In Lower Valley Hit-And-Run
A man is dead after he was run over in El Paso’s lower valley.
The man reportedly behind the wheel has been arrested.
Roy Ramos, 42, has been charged with accident causing personal injury or death.
The crash happened at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Yarbrough Drive and Fresno Drive.
El Paso police have identified the victim as Jesus Aguiler, 21.
Authorities say he was taken to University Medical Center where he later died.
Investigators say Ramos initially left the scene, but later returned and turned himself in.
Police say speed is not a factor. Authorities are waiting for toxicology reports to see if alcohol might have played a role.
