Deadline To Register To Vote In Texas November Election Approaching

With the November elections right around the corner and the Oct. 4 voter registration deadline fast approaching, the official website of the State of Texas, Texas.gov, is launching a webpage dedicated to helping Texans find voting and polling place information.

The new page, www.texas.gov/voting, provides Texans with easy access to voting information and services, as well as answers to the most commonly asked voting questions in Texas. Via the new webpage, citizens can:

-Verify voter registration; -Change the address on a voter registration card; -Complete a voter registration form; and -Learn more about local representatives.

Launched in June, Texas.gov is now ranked as one of the Top 10 in the Center for Digital Government’s annual Best of the Web competition for government portal excellence. The 2010 Best of the Web competition recognizes the most innovative and user-friendly state Web portals.

Texas.gov offers an easy, convenient way for Texans to access more than 1,000 online services, including Driver License Renewal, Vehicle Registration Renewal, and Birth Certificate Orders. Users can even access Texas.gov on-the-go through the Texas.gov iPhone application.

Texas.gov is a single, comprehensive online resource that makes government available to Texans anytime, anywhere.
