Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Man In Alleged Theft Of Signed Guitars

El Paso County Sheriff?s Detectives from the Property Crimes Section arrested John Morgan Farrell III for the alleged theft of two expensive guitars he allegedly stole from a neighbor.

The guitars – a Gibsom Les Paul and a Washburn guitar – were both signed by singer Sammmy Hagar.

Both guitars were recovered at a local pawn shop where they had been sold for considerably less than what they were worth, sheriff’s officials said.

Detectives worked closely in conjunction with the El Paso Police Department Pawn Shop Detail to locate and subsequently recover the stolen guitars. Farrell, 26, was charged with theft of greater than $20,000 but less than $100,000 (a third degree felony).

Farrell, of the 600 block of Paseo Sereno, was booked and remains at the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $30,000 bond.
