UTEP Tailgating Rules For 2010 Season

UTEP fans will have six opportunities in 2010 to carry on the Miner tailgating tradition. UTEP?s updated tailgate policies, including parking rules, shuttle services and ways to keep the campus clean can be reviewed at www.tailgating.utep.edu

On-campus tailgating can begin as early as 6 p.m. Friday at the RV lot on Schuster Avenue. Cars can park in the perimeter lots at 8 a.m. Saturday and the inner-campus lots at 2 p.m. (Editor’s note: Originally inner-campus opened at noon but that was changed after the UTEP-NMSU game).

While tailgating is a wonderful Texas tradition, UTEP officials ask fans to remember they are guests on campus and should act accordingly such as throwing away their trash and dumping their used charcoal into clearly marked charcoal bins located throughout campus.

UTEP officials encourage fans to be careful and follow the instructions of traffic officers as they leave the game.

UTEP Police Chief Cliff Walsh wants the fans to enjoy their experience, but he stressed the need to follow University policies such as no tailgating in the parking garage and to not bring glass containers on campus.

Game day parking will be available in the UTEP parking garage for $10 per game or $50 for the six-game home season. Parking passes may be purchased at the UTEP Ticket Center (915-747-5234).
