Fort Bliss Soldier Accused Of Fracturing Officer’s Nose
El Paso Police Department said they have charged a Fort Bliss Army Sergent with aggravated assault on a public servant after police said he struck two officers New Years Eve.
Police said officers were called to the parking lot of Club 101 on 1148 Airway Boulevard just after 10:30 p.m. Friday regarding a drunk disturbance.
The officers said they saw U.S. Army Sergent Chris Levi Brown, 25, yelling and cursing at bar staff. Officers met Brown in the parking lot and began to interview him when he became physically confrontational with the officers.
Officers said Brown punched one of them in the face, fracturing his nose. Brown continued to struggle until he was placed under arrest. The other officer sustained a sprained thumb.
Brown was placed under arrest and booked into the El Paso County Jail on Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant and Assault on a Public Servant with bonds totaling $12,500.
