El Pasoan Killed Driving Wrong Way In New Mexico Was Legally Drunk; Police Say She Was Escort
Authorities say a driver who died after driving the wrong way on Interstate 25 and slamming into an ambulance was legally drunk.
A report from the Office of the Medical Examiner obtained by KRQE-TV in Albuquerque says Kylene Holmes’s blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit of .08 percent at the time of the crash.
Holmes, an El Pasoan, died at the scene of the Dec. 14 crash in Santa Fe and her passenger was hurt.
Police say Holmes was southbound at 100 mph in the northbound lanes when she hit the ambulance head-on. The crash crushed the legs of the ambulance driver.
