Man Shot In South Las Cruces

Las Cruces Police responded to shots fired in the 1600-block of south Espina Street, near the intersection of Missouri Avenue shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday.

ABC-7?s New Mexico Mobile Newsroom was on-scene as police investigated the shooting that sent a 39-year-old Hispanic man to the hospital.

The victim, who police had not released identification for as of Tuesday night, suffered at least two gunshot wounds to the chest and was airlifted to University Medical Center in El Paso, police said.

Injuries did not appear to be life threatening, police said.

Police have not released information surrounding the circumstances of the shooting, but said the victim lives along Espina where it occurred.

No arrests have been made, police said.
