1 U.S. Marshal Killed, 1 Injured In Miami Shooting

One U.S. marshal and a suspect were fatally shot and a second marshal was injured Thursday morning in Miami, according to police, WPLG in Florida reported.

The incident occurred at 6917 NW Sixth Court in Miami. The marshals, who were part of a career criminal task force, were serving a warrant there when they were shot.

Police said one of the marshals was shot in the head and died. A suspect also was fatally shot, police said.

From Sky 10 overhead, paramedics could be seen wheeling someone into an ambulance.

Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado is at the scene.

Nearby Thena Crowder Elementary School at 757 NW 66th St. and Jesse McCrary Elementary School at 514 NW 77th St. were put on lockdown.

Southbound Interstate 95 was briefly shut down at Northwest 62nd Street, but it has since reopened.
