Rhinos get win in game 1 of Mid-West Division semifinals

El Paso Rhinos’ goalie Trent Casper stopped all 28 Tulsa Rampage shots and the Rhinos beat Tulsa, 4-0, to take game one of the best-of-three Mid-West Division semifinals.

Tyler Ridgedell scored first for the home team, followed by Brent Grant on a tip-in from Carter Achilles — a hard-work goal from two fourth-line forward that gave the Rhinos a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period.

Ben Henne scored the first power play goal for El Paso in three weeks and Todd Thomas wrapped the scoring in the third period.

The two teams play again at 7:30 pm MST tonight. If necessary, game three will be Sunday at 5:30 pm.
