El Paso Sheriff’s Officials: Man Let Teen Daughter Drink Malt Liquor; Gets Tasered When Allegedly Attacks Deputies

A man was shot with a Taser gun in Canutillo early Sunday after El Paso County sheriff’s officials said he lunged at deputies.

Raul Medrano, 31, was arrested and charged with endangering a child.

Deputies were dispatched to a family disturbance in the 500 block of Talbot shortly after midnight. When deputies arrived, authorities said they found two men arguing.

Investigators said the argument started because Medrano had allowed his 14-year-old daughter to drink an unknown amount of malt liquor alcohol beverages.

Officials said the teen was found passed out in the residence.

As officials made contact with Medrano he lunged at the deputies, that’s when he was immediately shot with a Taser and taken into custody, according to authorities.

The 14-year-old was reportedly turned over to family members.
