Off-Duty Border Patrol Agent Allegedly Pulls Gun In Street Altercation
El Paso Police have charged a 29-year old man with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon after an incident that allegedly occurred Wednesday morning.
According to police, Kevin James Pugh III was driving a 2012 grey BMW south on Stanton when a group of pedestrians crossed Stanton in his path. A verbal altercation ensued which resulted in Pugh allegedly exiting his vehicle and approaching two of the individuals/victims with a handgun.
Pugh allegedly pointed a handgun at the two men and one of the men saw a red dot on his chest. Pugh then allegedly demanded one of victims to get on his knees and apologize.
The person did apologize. Officers placed Pugh under arrest and charged him with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on bonds totaling $10,000.
Ramiro Cordero, Border Patriol spokesman, confirmed that Pugh is a Border Patrol agent, Pugh has been placed on administrative duty pending outcome of investigation.
