A man airlifted to the Lubbock Burn Center is in critical condition and being treated for burns and smoke inhalation, according to hospital officials.

His name has not been released.

El Paso Fire officials said the 24-year-old may be in the military, but Fort Bliss officials have not confirmed that information.

The man was hurt after a fire sparked in an apartment complex on the 5200 block of Wren in Northeast El Paso Saturday morning.
