3 Arrested After Police Conduct Bar Check

A bar check lead to the arrest of three men wanted on outstanding warrants Friday night.

When officers with the El Paso Police Department’s gang tactical unit went inside the Tubo Tubo Bar at 1342 North Zaragoza Road officials said they recognized Eric Leal, 31, as a man wanted on a probation violation.

According to authorities, as Leal was being arrested he asked officers if he could leave his money with Luis Estrada, 25. Investigators said when the officers met with Estrada he told them he had outstanding warrants and was arrested.

When officers got Estrada’s consent to search his car, authorities said they found cocaine.

While Leal and Estrada were being arrested, officials said two other officers checking the bar began speaking with Manuel Bautista, 31, who got upset and asked officers to take him to jail. Officials said a warrant check showed Bautista with four traffic warrants out for his arrest.

Police said Leal had four probation violation warrants and 13 traffic warrants.

Estrada was charged with possession of a controlled substance and had three traffic warrants, authorities said.

Officers said Bautista had four traffic warrants. All three were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
