UTEP Football Caravan To Make First Of Four Stops Wednesday

EL PASO, TEXAS- The popular UTEP Football Caravan, sponsored by BBVA Compass Bank, will make the first stop of its four-event tour at Outback Steakhouse at 6 p.m. MDT Wednesday. Fans will be able to interact with the UTEP football team and coaching staff, UTEP cheerleaders, Paydirt Pete and other UTEP coaches while also putting themselves in the position to win some great prizes, get some pictures and autographs and even take part in an eating contest.

BBVA Compass Bank will sponsor Wednesday?s event, with 92.3 The Fox also getting in on the action. It will open up with the players and coaches being introduced, before UTEP head coach Mike Price and others speak about the upcoming 2011 campaign.

The Fox will conduct live interviews with members of the Miners? coaching staff during the event, while fans will be able to secure autographs and pose for pictures with their favorite Miner player, coach or cheerleader. It will be a similar setup for the Ft. Bliss Freedom Crossing, which is slated to commence at 11 a.m. MDT on April 27.

The UTEP Football Caravan will also make stops at the Cielo Vista Mall at 2 p.m. MDT on April 16 and the Outlet Mall at 1 p.m. MDT on April 23. All four of the functions are being presented by BBVA Compass Bank, with some great promotions planned for each one.

UTEP Marketing will have a box where fans can enter their name to win a pair of season tickets, in addition to being entered to take home the grand prize of two sideline passes for the Miners’ 2011 home opener against Stony Brook on Sept. 3. The winner for the grand prize will be revealed at the annual UTEP football spring game at 6 p.m. MDT on April 30.

Another thing to look out for will be the ?Price Vs.? competition, with fans up to the task facing off against Coach Price in a unique eating contest at all four of the locations.

Season tickets will also be on sale at each of the four stops, with those in attendance having the opportunity lock up great seats for all six of the 2011 home games.
