Abraham Peinado, City Council Candidate District 1

NAME Abe Peinado OFFICE YOU SEEK City Council District 1 AGE 27 OCCUPATION Independent Insurance Agent/Broker and Owner EDUCATION Bachelors Finance UTEP FAMILY-No Kids, engaged

1. NUMBER-ONE CAMPAIGN FOCUS: Jobs/taxes

2. WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM YOUR OPPONENTS? Intimate knowledge of business operations, relationship building, youth, and a fearless commitment to my clients, constituents, and values.

3. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE THAT QUALIFIES YOU FOR THE POSITION YOU SEEK: Business owner, I have lived in multiple cities, and have seen what works and what doesn’t.

4. IF YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO REVOKE ONE ORDINANCE IN EL PASO IMMEDIATELY UPON TAKING OFFICE, WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE? Reduce the bond back to 10k for pulling permits and table smartcodes.

5. DESCRIBE A MOMENT THAT CHANGED YOUR LIFE: Opening a business In El paso in a terrible economy and keeping it growing everyday

6. IN WHAT WAYS IS EL PASO ON THE RIGHT TRACK, AND IN WHAT WAYS DOES IT NEED TO CHANGE COURSE? Right track? El Paso Govt. needs to quit legislating their idealism and get out of the way of small business. The market and economy should determine homes that are built. They need to revisit the office of city manager. This bureaucracy costs tax payers over $7 million per year, and expose what it really costs El Pasoans. City Hall needs to privatize permits and inspections (5th floor). City Hall needs to go back to a 5 day work week. City Hall needs to be available and accessible to constituents, and most importantly, the business owners that are the foundation of this city.

7. IF ELECTED, HOW WILL YOU BALANCE THE NEEDS OF FAMILY, YOUR CAREER AND YOUR OFFICE? Luckily I have an incredibly understanding fiancee and no children, coupled with a smoothly running office that just needs me to sign checks, so I can be available and accessible to anyone.

8. WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? El Paso. I am a true product of District 1, not a transplant.

9. WHEN AND WHY DID YOU COME TO EL PASO? I moved back to El Paso from Dallas to make it a better place, and get the economic ball rolling. I came back to start my own business, and realize my dreams of business ownership. I’M TIRED OF EL PASO BEING VIEWED AS THE ARM PIT OF TX!! El Paso always votes Hispanic and Democrat, but it’s about time that some articulate, fiscally conservative, people step up to the plate and get El Paso what we deserve, and not what The “Chosen” downtown folks want for us!!

10. DO YOU HAVE A WEBSITE, TWITTER OR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT? Twitter and Facebook yes, for my business

11. OTHER CONTACT INFORMATION FOR VOTERS: Phone 313-4469 or email at elect@abepeinado.com
