Niland Wins Dist. 8 Seat; Noe, Mejia Head To Runoff

Cortney Niland has won the the City Council District 8 seat and Dr. Michiel “Mike” R. Noe and has a lead with election results released Saturday evening.

In District 8, Niland won the seat with 1,046 votes or 54 percent of the vote. City Rep. Beto O’Rourke chose not to run for re-election.

In District 5, Noe has 1,296 votes or 41 percent and Maria “Mayela” Mejia has 999 votes or 32 percent. The two will face off in a runoff on either June 11 or June 18.
