Graffiti Artists Help Homeless In El Paso
Graffiti is usually looked at as a bad thing.
But on Saturday, graffiti artists came to the sun city to help the homeless.
El Paso’s third annual “Break Yo’self” graffiti art show and paint session once again graces the walls of a few borderland buildings.
Graffiti artists from all over the country to show off their skills and try to break the negative view graffiti carries with it.
There is no doubt it takes a lot of spray paint to cover the walls, but the real stars of the event are the cans of food brought in by attendees.
The event organizers asked for canned foods and monetary donation with proceeds benefiting the El Paso rescue mission.
“When people can come out, especially a city like El Paso that they can support something that’s maybe not fully understood and I see all types of walks of life coming in and appreciating the art form. I think it’s awesome,” said event organizer Jeremiah Navarro.
The show continues Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Rescue Mission silos.
