NMSU Track and Field Finishes Season at NCAA West Prelim

EUGENE, ORE. – The New Mexico State track and field team finished their outdoor season after five members competed at the NCAA West Prelims in Eugene, Ore., this weekend.

NM State competed in the 400m, 400m hurdles, 10,000m, long jump, and javelin throw while at the prelims.

Competing in the 400m hurdles and long jump for the Aggies was junior Jndia Cleveland. Cleveland finished the hurdles with a time of 1:02.55 finishing in 46th and had a leap of 5.45m (17-10.75) in the long jump placing her 44th.

Sophomore LaSasha Aldredge ran the 400m for NM State finishing 42nd in a time of 56.40.

In the javelin throw senior Kelsey Brennan, who is also a volleyball standout for the Aggies, placed 36th with a throw of 41.17m (135-01).

Rounding out the events for NM State was the sister duo of Courtney and Camille Schultz. The Schultz sisters competed in the 10,000m run placing 36th and 37th with times of 35:21.41 and 35:24.46 respectively.

The NM State track and field/cross country squad resumes activities in the fall of 2011.
