Man Shot By Police Is Jailed

ONE MAN TREATED WITH STAB WOUNDS AFTER ALTERCATION IN CENTRAL EL PASO

Date/Time: 07-04-11 @ 3:36a.m. Location: 200 Chihuahua Victim: Jose Reyes, 68 years of age of the 200 block of Overland

EL PASO, TEXAS – El Paso Police responded to a report of a theft of vehicle in progress that was occurring in the area of Overland and Chihuahua Streets. As officers responded they located 68 year old Jose Reyes walking in the area. Further investigation showed that Reyes had sustained several stab wounds to his chest area. A second individual was also located in the area and is believed to have been involved in the same incident. That person also sustained minor injuries during the incident. El Paso Fire/Medical responded to the scene to treat the injured parties. No motive for this stabbing has been determined and it is not known if Reyes and the other man knew one another. A vehicle was also damaged in the area and that vehicle is believed to belong to the second man that police located. At this time police will continue this investigation and any updates will be released as they become available. All injuries in this case are believed to be non-life threatening. ###
