Man Accused Of Burglarizing Car Outside Bar

A man broke into a car outside an East Side bar and stole a purse and a stereo early Friday, police said.

Police said Jose Medina broke into a red 1998 Ford Mustang that was parked outside the Tork Bar about 1 a.m. at 2828 Lee Trevino Drive. He then fled the scene, but officers spotted him on the 400 block of Ben Swain in El Paso’s Lower Valley. He was arrested on suspicion of burglary of a vehicle.

Medina was booked into the El Paso County Jail. His bond was set $30,000. Medina had two previous convictions, which were not disclosed because an investigation is ongoing, police said.
