NEW THIS MORNING: 2 People Killed During Loop 375 Rollover

El Paso Police investigators have identified the two people killed during a rollover wreck Sunday evening as Renato Rodas, 40; and Virginia Morenor, 48.

Their deaths mark the 39th and 40th traffic fatalities in El Paso this year as compared to only 37 at the same time last year.

According to police, Rodas was heading north on Loop 375 at about 5:16 p.m. when he lost control of the semi truck along a stretch of the highway north of Montana.

The truck rolled over and slid along the loop’s shoulder before crashing into a chain-link fence on Fort Bliss property.

Police say Rodas and Moreno were both properly restrained. However, both died at the scene of the wreck.

At this point in the investigation, speeding and alcohol are not considered factors in the wreck.
