Man Stabs Ex-Girlfriend, Then Himself, According To Police
During a heated fight, a man broke a glass bottle, stabbed his girlfriend and then stabbed himself, according to El Paso Police.
Investigators said they responded to the call on Saturday morning at about 5:40 at a residence on DeLeon Street in west El Paso. Police said the 18-year-old man got into an argument with this 21-year-old ex-girlfriend. Officials said the ‘altercation escalated’ and the man broke a bottle and stabbed the victim on the arm. Then he stabbed himself in abdomen with the broken bottle, said police.
The suspect, who police have not identified, fled before officers arrived at the residence. Police caught up to him a short distance later. He was taken to University Medical Center for treatment and will be booked into the El Paso County Jail for the assault after his release from the hospital.
The victim was also taken to an area hospital. Police said their injuries are not life-threatening and they’re still investigating the alleged assault.
