Man Accused Of Beating Girlfriend Sought

Doa Ana County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man accused confining his girlfriend in his home and attempting to strangle her.

Omero Garza, also known as Homero Garza, is wanted on a count of false imprisonment, once count of bribery of a witness, and two counts of battery against a household member, deputies said.

Garza, 38, whose address is listed as 455 Highway 192 in Mesquite, is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 250 pounds.

Authorities said the assault occurred July 18 after a verbal argument with his girlfriend.

Police said Garza is on probation for his second DWI conviction, and has failed to report to his probation officer. A warrant was issued by Magistrate Judge Kent Wingenroth. Garza’s bond will be set at $50,000. Garza is believed to be in hiding. Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Bo Nevarez, case agent, at 575-525-1911.
