Man Accused Of Causing Serious Injuries To 10-Week-Old Child
The 18-year-old baby sitter of a 10-week-old boy shook and struck the child, causing multiple fractures and bruising to his head Wednesday morning, police said.
Cesar Contreras, of the 2800 block of Pershing Drive, was arrested on suspicion of injury to child, causing serious bodily injury. He was booked in to the El Paso County Jail, with bond set at $50,000.
Police said Contreras was taking care of the child, whose relation in unknown, when there were reports that a baby had suffered suspicious injuries.
Officers with the El Paso Police Department’s Crimes Against Children unit said Contreras shook the child and struck him with an open hand several times across the face.
