Man Accused Of Abusing 911 Line After Officers Respond To Home
On what is typically a busy day for police, a man who was upset with officers called 911 six times before being arrested, police said.
Officers had responded to a domestic disturbance call placed by 55-year-old Wallace Stock about 10:20 p.m. Friday in the 7000 block of San Marino Drive, but they determined that no criminal offense had occurred. When officers began to drive away, they said Scott became belligerent and began calling 911 several times.
Police said Scott called 911 at 10:21, 10:55, 11:12, 11:14 and again at 11:20 p.m. before officers returned to the West Side home and arrested Scott on suspicion of silent or abusive calls to 911. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail with bond was set at $2,500.
In a news release issued Monday, police said Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings typically generate the largest volume of calls for emergency police service, and people who abuse the 911 service draw from police resources and hinder police responses.
