Las Cruces Fire Engine Flips Over On Slippery Roads

A Las Cruces Fire Engine was involved in accident while responding to a call late Friday night, according to the Las Cruces Fire Department.

Las Cruces Fire Department Engine 5 flipped on it side while it was responding to another weather-related accident on Del Rey Boulevard.

The fire engine flipped after it encountered an icy patch on the roadway. There were three firefighters in the vehicle when the crash happened. None of them were injured.

The truck sustained substantial damage and has been indefinitely placed out of service.

The Las Cruces Fire Department would like to remind drivers that even with the most cautious and defensive driving, accidents can still happen during inclement weather.
