Race For El Paso Seat On U.S. House Intensifies

The recent back-and-forth between two candidates in the May 29th Democratic primary for El Paso?s representative seat in the U.S. House prompted ABC-7 to look into the dynamic between incumbent Silvestre Reyes and former city representative Beto O’Rourke.

“It has taken a personal tone,” said University of Texas at El Paso professor Dr. Richard Pineda.

The other candidates participating in the May 29th primary are Ben Mendoza, Paul Johnson Junior and Jerome Tighlman on the Democrat side. The Republicans running for the seat are Corey Roen and Barbara Carrasco.
