El Paso Attorney is ‘Fugitive from Justice’
El Pasoans are likely familiar with his name — but they may not know his face.
A plaintiff’s attorney who uses television star William Shatner as a paid endorser of his practice, has found himself on the other side of the courtroom.
El Paso attorney Michael J. Gopin is still in the El Paso County Jail after his arrest Tuesday night.
A fugitive complaint from the El Paso County Police Department states that Gopin was taken into custody in El Paso for “contempt of court/failure to appear/failure to comply/failure to provide a listing of all assets.”
The complaint also states Gopin fled the state of New Mexico, where he committed the offense, to Texas.
