Franklin High School could get second chance at playoffs
Burges High School may have been the only team to win on Friday, but they may not be the only El Paso team advancing in the 4A Division II State Playoffs.
According to a report by the El Paso Times, Franklin High School football players may need to continue on with practices.
The El Paso Times reports that El Paso Independent School District’s athletic director was told Franklin may advance following their loss.
The newspaper indicates that while Franklin lost 31 to 14 against Arlington Bowie High School, there are questions over whether the opponent played an ineligible player.
If the school did, it appears the game would be considered a forfeit.
ABC-7 attempted to contact Franklin High School’s football coach Saturday morning to gain more information.
The coach did not answer, but check back on KVIA.com for updates.
