UPDATE: Man shot outside a bar overnight, police look for shooter

A man was taken to University Medical center after being shot early Sunday morning, police said.

Around 1:30 a.m. police said theywere called to the 5700 block of Trowbridge on reports of a shooting near the Golden Nugget Bar in Central El Paso.

Once at the scene, the Officers found that a 35-year old man had been shot.

Based on the preliminary investigation, police said that the victim and a group of people got into an altercation outside in the parking lot of the Golden Nugget.

Investigators said the victim was shot multiple times during the scuffle, but was able to make his way into the establishment for help.

Radio traffic indicated the suspect may have gotten into a car and fled the scene.

According to police, no one was arrested or in custody for the shooting as of Sunday evening.

Police continue to search for the shooter.

As of Sunday evening, the victim was in critical, but stable condition.
